ScribeMD is a company that works to establish and manage Scribe programs for emergency departments. Having a scribe work with the Emergency Physician throughout their shift will increase the amount of patients a physician can see in a day, increase the accuracy of documentation, and increase the amount of time that the physician can spend at the bedside.

In March of 2004, Emergency Medicine Specialists of Orange County (EMSOC) began utilizing scribes in the St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Department (SJH ED). Since then, the scribe program has grown and flourished, evolving into ScribeMD. In addition to the medical records having increased legibility, the physicians at the SJH ED have been more than pleased by the services the scribes have provided. Our program has established itself as an integral part of the ED healthcare team, as these statistics further prove:
